This is not the only reason why we get the voter id cards that are full of errors, the other reason behind this is heavy load of creating Voter Id Cards as in every five years the numbers of voters get increased by a huge margin. So cursing only the government employees is being harsh on them. There is a requirement of proper management system, good employees and government supervision for effective work.
Nowadays our government is looking in this matter and as the general awareness and literacy rate is increasing the government is also trying to cope up with it. And therefore our government is trying to make people happy with its facilities. The recent example of it we can see on the Election Commission's website, where it is providing the option to Apply For Corrections in Voter Id Card. In past years we have to go to the elections commission office to apply for any correction but now we can apply for corrections from home, there is no need to go there and waste your valuable time and effort. So lets apply for Correction in Voter Id Card.
Things to be gathered/required before applying for correction in Voter Id Card:
- A scanned photo (Image should be in JPEG format and size not should not be more than 1 MB)
- A scanned copy of Age Proof (Image should be in JPEG format and size should not be more than 4 MB)
- A scanned copy of Address Proof (Image should be in JPEG format and size should not be more than 4 MB)
- An Email Id
- A Mobile Number (Active mobile number)
- Part Number and Serial Number of Electoral roll
- Your Current Voter Id (For some specific details)
How To Apply For Correction In Voter Id Card ?
- Go to Election Commission of India's website.
- Then click on New User Registration to register for a new account.
- Then it will ask your Mobile Number and Email Id.
- Enter the mobile number, email id, captcha code and click on Register tab.
- Then wait for a minute it will send you a verification code both on your mobile and email Id.
- Enter the verification code in Verify field, you can copy the code from mobile or email since they send to you the single code on both mobile and email.
- Then again click on Register tab to register for new account and this time your account will be created.
- Now you will be redirected to your account's homepage.
- Then click on Applications tab and select Submit New Application from the list.
- Then again you will be redirected to a new page, now select "Application For Correction To Particular Entered In Electoral Roll (Form 8)" from the list.
- Then you can see your correction form, enter the required fields and click on Save tab then Continue.
- Now you will be redirected to the second page of correction form, here you have to upload your scanned photo and fill in the relation type field.
- Then again click on Save and Continue tab.
- Now you will be taken to third page of correction form.
- Upload your Age and Address Proof and fill up the Address fields.
- Then again click on Save and Continue tab.
- Now you will be redirected to the last page of the form where you have to enter your EPIC number, Name Of Constituency, Place and Date.
- Then click on Submit tab.
- After that it will ask you for final submission, then click Yes. But before final submission make sure that all the fields are filled correctly by clicking on Preview tab because after final submission you are not allowed to make any changes.
- Now your correction form has submitted so you can check the status on My Applications page in your account.

DeleteIf you have not noted or forgot the password that you have filled up while registering for the account on elections commission of India's website then you can use these simple steps to get your password:
1. Go to election commission of India's website by Clicking Here
2. Then click on forgot password.
3. Enter your registered mobile number (the number you have used at the time of registration)
4. Enter the CAPTCHA code.
5. Click on submit button and they will send you the password via SMS.
