In the days of elections voter Id cards are created in so much hurry that they contain lots of errors from spelling mistakes to wrong names and addresses. Generally we don't require Part number and Serial number often but if we have to apply for corrections in Voter Id Card online then we need it as it is asked by the Election commission of India's website. Most of the people do not know how and where to find Part number and Serial number because Election commission's website does not show any direct link for Part Number and Serial Number.

To find the Part Number and Serial Number of Electoral roll simply follow the below steps:

• Visit Election Commission of India's website.
• Then click on Search Your Name In Voter List.

• After that you will be redirected to a new page.
• Now select your State.

• Now a new page will open up and it will provide you three ways to search your Part Number and Serial Number of Electoral roll. 
• The three search type options are District Wise, Assembly Constituency Wise, Mohalla/Area Wise.
• Select any one of the search types and then fill up all the required fields and click on Search tab.

• Now you can see your Part Number and Serial Number of Electoral Roll, copy them and use wherever you want.

But before we start searching through search type lets first discuss about EPIC Number because we need it to search our part and serial numbers.

What is EPIC Number ?

EPIC number is a unique number given to a voter by Election Commission as identity number.

Where To Find Epic Number ?

You can find the EPIC Number on the front side of your Voter Id Card, just above your photo. It is written in capital letters including some numbers.

How To Search Through District Wise ?

• In search type select District Wise.
• Then select your District.
• Now in search by field you can Either Enter EPIC No, Name or Name & Father/Husband's Name.

• Fill any one of the field and press Enter.
• For best results use your EPIC Number otherwise you have to search your name in the list.

How To Search Through Assembly Constituency Wise ?

• In search type select Assembly Constituency Wise.
• Then select District and Assembly Constituency.
• Then in Search By field select any one of the three fields i.e. EPIC no, Name, Name & Father/Husband's Name and enter the required details.

• Then click on Search tab.

How To Find Assembly Constituency Number and Name?

• See the back side of your voter Id Card, you can find it just below the date in the back side of your Voter Id Card.

How To Search Through Mohalla/Area Wise ?

• In search type select Mohalla/Area Wise.
• Then select your District.
• Then Enter your Mohalla Name and click on Search tab.

• Now scroll down the list and search your name in list.

Voter Slip is a much needed document which is required at the time of voting, however it is not an identification document and also it is not compulsory to bring it to the Polling Station but in some areas officers at Polling booth ask you for Voter Slip so it is better to have it to cast your vote. Generally Voter Slips is posted to your home address by election commission or you can get it from the officers at the polling booth. But if you haven't received your Voter Slip then you can follow the below steps to search it online.

How To Search Voter Slip Online ?

• Visit Election Commission of India's website.
• Then click on Search Your Name In Voter List.

• After that you will be redirected to a new page.
• Now select your State from the two lists.

• After that you will again redirected to a new page.
• Now select District Wise in Search Type for ease otherwise you can choose other options.
• Then Select Your District.
• Then in Search By field select EPIC Number.

• Now you will see some record at the bottom of the page as sown in screenshots.
• The first field in the record is Voter's Slip.
• Click on Show link.

How To Apply For Corrections In Voter Id Card Online (India)

As we all know the condition of government work in India, which is pathetic sometimes. Our government tries to provide every possible facility to us but there is no systematic work and that is the reason why most people have to suffer. One of the biggest example of carelessness of government employees is faults in Voter Id Card. Every political party needs vote for forming the government and for this they run big campaigns to generate awareness about the value of "a vote" and "the importance of a Voter Id Card" but nobody cares whether the electoral commission is working effectively or not, are they generating the proper voter id cards for people or not ?.

This is not the only reason why we get the voter id cards that are full of errors, the other reason behind this is heavy load of creating Voter Id Cards as in every five years the numbers of voters get increased by a huge margin. So cursing only the government employees is being harsh on them. There is a requirement of proper management system, good employees and government supervision for effective work.

Nowadays our government is looking in this matter and as the general awareness and literacy rate is increasing the government is also trying to cope up with it. And therefore our government is trying to make people happy with its facilities. The recent example of it we can see on the Election Commission's website, where it is providing the option to Apply For Corrections in Voter Id Card. In past years we have to go to the elections commission office to apply for any correction but now we can apply for corrections from home, there is no need to go there and waste your valuable time and effort. So lets apply for Correction in Voter Id Card.

Things to be gathered/required before applying for correction in Voter Id Card:

• A scanned photo (Image should be in JPEG format and size not should not be more than 1 MB)
• A scanned copy of Age Proof (Image should be in JPEG format and size should not be more than 4 MB)
• A scanned copy of Address Proof (Image should be in JPEG format and size should not be more than 4 MB)
• An Email Id
• A Mobile Number (Active mobile number)
• Part Number and Serial Number of Electoral roll
• Your Current Voter Id (For some specific details)

 How To Apply For Correction In Voter Id Card ?

• Go to Election Commission of India's website.
• Then click on New User Registration to register for a new account.

• Then it will ask your Mobile Number and Email Id.
• Enter the mobile number, email id, captcha code and click on Register tab.

• Then wait for a minute it will send you a verification code both on your mobile and email Id.
• Enter the verification code in Verify field, you can copy the code from mobile or email since they send to you the single code on both mobile and email.
• Then again click on Register tab to register for new account and this time your account will be created.
• Now you will be redirected to your account's homepage.
• Then click on Applications tab and select Submit New Application from the list.

• Then again you will be redirected to a new page, now select "Application For Correction To Particular Entered In Electoral Roll (Form 8)" from the list.

• Then you can see your correction form, enter the required fields and click on Save tab then Continue.

• Now you will be redirected to the second page of correction form, here you have to upload your scanned photo and fill in the relation type field.
• Then again click on Save and Continue tab.

• Now you will be taken to third page of correction form.
• Upload your Age and Address Proof and fill up the Address fields.

• Then again click on Save and Continue tab.
• Now you will be redirected to the last page of the form where you have to enter your EPIC number, Name Of Constituency, Place and Date.

• Then click on Submit tab.
• After that it will ask you for final submission, then click Yes. But before final submission make sure that all the fields are filled correctly by clicking on Preview tab because after final submission you are not allowed to make any changes.
• Now your correction form has submitted so you can check the status on My Applications page in your account.
